Dyspraxia Assessments

Developmental Coordination Disorder in Children

To assess for Dyspraxia (also known as DCD) Occupational Therapist's typically need to complete a formal motor skills assessment (Movement-ABC) as well informal assessments and discussion to find out how any motor or coordination skill challenges impact on the child's daily life. On completion of the assessment,  a comprehensive report is provided containing formal motor score results , advice and recommendations will be provided.

Since the guidance states that the involvement of a medical doctor is necessary to assess to consider other possible explanations for a child's movement difficulties, we recommend that you then take the report to your child's GP or paediatrician who can review the information and our assessment to provide a final opinion or diagnosis.
